Wireless Network Computing
in the Libraries
Did you know that you can
access UST network resources from your laptop computer?
In order to use the wireless
network your laptop computer must have a wireless network card
preinstalled; it must be running Windows 2000 or XP, or
Macintosh OS X operating systems; and it must have anti-virus
software installed. In addition, for Minneapolis campus
wireless network use, you must register your computer online
at: http://ust-netregmpls.stthomas.edu.
Further instructions are available on the IRT
Wireless page. You can also ask for assistance at Scholars (Minneapolis),
the Keffer Library reference desk, the O'Shaughnessy-Frey
Library Infocommons, or the IRT Front Desk in Foley
100 (St. Paul) during daytime
business hours.
You cannot print directly from the wireless
network. You may transfer files from your laptop to a
public network computer for printing using a floppy disk, USB
key, or by saving to your U: drive.
Please see IRT's Wireless
@ UST FAQ page for technical requirements and other
important information.

Public Research Computers
The library offers twenty-four PCs and and five Macintosh computers in our public computing area on the lower

users who may need research assistance from the library staff. Users wishing to
check their email, word process, utilize special software, or other similar tasks will need to use the computers
in our PC classrooms, Macintosh classroom, or multimedia area. The
multimedia area offers access to two Macintosh computers and
two PCs which are available to perform scans, manipulate
images, or complete other projects that utilize specialized
software.
