Services Borrowing
privileges
Students, faculty, and staff of the University of St. Thomas and other CLIC consortium schools (Augsburg, Bethel, Bethel Seminary,
Concordia, Hamline, Hamline Law, Macalester, Northwestern College, St. Catherine's), and
St. Thomas alumni are allowed to borrow circulating books from this library.
Although members of the community
may use the library resources, they cannot check books out. Periodicals and reference
materials do not circulate. All patrons must present their valid UST or CLIC I.D. (or UST
alumni borrower's card) to check out books.
Books are checked out to students
and alumni for six weeks; faculty and staff may keep books for the term. A book can
be recalled by the library after three weeks if requested by another patron.
IMPORTANT: Our borrowers are
responsible for all material checked out on their cards.
Overdue notices are sent to your UST e-mail account. You
will be assessed sizable replacement and other fees/fines when
books checked out to you are declared lost.
Also, your borrowing privileges can be endangered. (Charges
may be significantly reduced if lost items are safely
returned.)
For more information on this topic or for a more detailed
listing of the user populations we serve and the services
provided for each unique population, please consult our borrowing
privileges web site.
Materials from other libraries
Obtaining books from other
libraries
- Students, faculty, and staff have
borrowing privileges at the CLIC consortium libraries, therefore, you may travel to these
libraries and present your UST I.D. to check out books.
- Books from other CLIC libraries, including
other UST libraries, can also be requested electronically through
CLICNet.
It typically takes a couple of business days to transfer books between CLIC libraries.
- If the book you want is NOT in CLICNet, you can fill out a web-based interlibrary loan form to expedite your
book request.
Obtaining periodicals from other
libraries
- Articles can be obtained by visiting the
library in person, periodicals do not circulate.
- If the periodical title is NOT owned by UST, current students, faculty,
and staff may submit their article request using a web-based
interlibrary loan form.
Reserve

reserve for use by their students. For more information, please
