ERIC
The main page for all ERIC resources, including the ERIC
database, thesaurus, journal listing etc. Please note
that ERIC is in transition, and most of the Clearinghouses
have closed as of December 2003. A few clearinghouses are
still operating with assistance from their home institution
or have moved their web-based resources to other locations.

Reference Desk
Formerly AskERIC, this site has lesson plans, listserv archives,
a link to the ERIC database,
bibliographies and more. The search page for the database includes a
link to the ERIC Thesaurus, a list of ERIC journals and

This site, maintained by Florence Coles Ballenger
Teacher's Center at Eastern Illinois University, has links on the history

Century Schoolbooks
View digital images of school textbooks used in the 19th
century in the United States. The collection is housed at

Theory into
Practice Database
This site includes a database of approximately 50 major theories on human
learning and instruction. The content for each theory includes an
overview, scope and application notes, an example, principles, and
references. Several have graphic diagrams or Quicktime videos.

Works Clearinghouse
The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) was established by the
U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education

Standards & Student Testing)
Good resource on K-12 testing. Includes ordering information for
publications, discussion areas, and a listserv.
FREE (Federal Resources for Educational
Excellence)

The Condition of Education
Online version of publication by this title. Describes current
status and recent progress of education in the United States. Does
not have a search feature.
Digest of Education
Statistics
Online version of this basic statistical source; this site

Minnesota Kids Count
(Children's Defense Fund)
Online version of the latest Kids Count Data Book. Assesses the
well-being of Minnesota's children based on ten indicators. Although
not strictly an education-related site, there is good data here on the
quality of life for children living here.
America's
Children: Key National Indicators
Online version of a biennial report on the condition of
children in the United States. Twenty five indicators
describe the status of children in the areas of economic
security, education, health and social environment among
others.
