The Blackwell Dictionary of Cognitive Psychology. 1990.

Each definition is signed and includes a bibliography of sources for further readhing on the topic.

Companion Encyclopedia of Psychology.   2 vols. 1994.

Extensive essays on psychology.  Grouped under general topics (i.e. cognition) each article is written by "an acknowledged authority" and includes a lengthy bibliography.  Volume 2 has a detailed subject index.

The Corsini Encyclopedia of Psychology and Behavioral Science.  4 vols.  2001.  (REF BF 31 .E528 2001)
A four-volume encyclopedia, international in scope, which covers important terms and concepts in articles written by well-known authorities.

Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV). 4th ed. 1994.  (REF RC 455.2 .C4 D54 1994)
The basic resources published by the American Psychiatric Association that defines and is used to assist in the diagnosis of mental disorders.

The Dictionary of Psychology.  1999.  (REF BF 31 .C72 1999)
Edited by Raymond Corsini, this is a basic dictionary to terms in the field of psychology.

Encyclopedia of Psychology.  8 vols.   2000  (REF BF 31 .E52 2000)
This set, published by the American Psychological Association and Oxford University Press, is the basic set for the field.  Articles are written by authorities in the field and include extensive bibliographies.

The International Dictionary of Psychology.   2d ed.  1996.

A basic dictionary with short definitions of psychology terms.

The International Encyclopedia of the Social and Behavioral Sciences.  2001.  26 vols.  (REF H 41 .I58 2001)
A major encyclopedia in the field.  Each in-depth article is signed and includes cross-references and a bibliography of resources.  Volume 25 is an index to names in the publication, and volume 26 is a subject index to the set.
