Library Resources for Professional Psychology
Students and Faculty

The Charles J. Keffer Library houses the professional psychology collection. We are located in Opus Hall on the Minneapolis campus of the University of St. Thomas. Please consult this map for a more detailed explanation of our location: http://www.stthomas.edu/libraries/keffer/general/about/location.htm

Borrowing privileges
Students have borrowing privileges at all UST libraries, as well as other CLIC consortium schools (Augsburg, Bethel, Concordia, Hamline, Hamline Law, Macalester, Northwestern, St. Catherine's). All users must present a current UST I.D. to check out books. Books are checked out to students for six weeks; a book can be recalled by the library after three weeks if requested by another user.
Periodicals and reference materials cannot be checked out.

Finding books
Students can search for books on or off-campus using CLICnet (http://clicnet.clic.edu/search/), our online catalog.

Finding articles
A variety of online periodical indexes and databases, such as the PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES periodical indexes (which often include access to full-text articles) are available on-campus or from home or office via our Library Databases and Indexes page.  For additional information, check with a librarian.  You can also visit our Psychology Databases at UST Web page for links to these and other relevant databases.

Materials from other libraries
Articles or books not available at our library can be requested through Interlibrary Loan using online forms.

Reference materials
The Charles J. Keffer Library houses the print professional psychology collection.  A list of core print reference holdings can be found on the Web at http://www.stthomas.edu/libraries/guides/prof_psych/printpsych.htm.

Reference consultations
Professional reference service is available. While walk-in service is often available, appointments should be made for lengthy reference consultations or tutorials.

Copy services
The library provides self-service copiers for print and microform materials. The machines accept coins or users can pay for their copies at the Access Services desk on the skyway level of the library.

Individual and group study
The library includes ample space for individual and group work in common areas.  Four group study rooms and one quiet study room also are available; to reserve one in advance, call 651-962-4664 or stop by the reference desk.

Psychology research guides
A variety of information for professional psychology students and faculty, including links to recommended psychology sites on the Web, instructional tip sheets, the UST periodical holdings list, professional associations on the Web, and other current information is available from the Psychology Resources link on the Charles J. Keffer Library Website.
